Village Friends is a local voluntary organisation offering support, information and friendship to people at a time of need.

The villages served are:  AldingbourneBarnham, Eastergate, Fontwell, Slindon, Walberton , Westergate and Yapton.

Village Friends volunteers work mainly, but not exclusively, with older persons.

It may be that people appear too busy to stop and talk, this can lead to loneliness and sadness.

WE MAY BE ABLE TO HELP.

We have volunteers who will call on anyone one who needs a friend to call on them from time to time.

The volunteer may help with some shopping, collect prescription or pension, or just chat over a cup of tea or coffee on a regular basis.  This could become a visit to look forward to.

COULD YOU BECOME A VOLUNTEER?

Volunteers need a friendly approach, good listening skills, and an ability to get on with others.  Further requirements are two personal references and a Criminal Record Bureau check.

Training , support and information is provided in an informal,  friendly setting.

We regret we are unable to offer nursing, personal care, housework or maintenance work and are not an emergency service.
