Minutes of the annual General Meeting of Walberton Action Group
7 November 2007
Present: chairman Peter Brown, and 31 people who signed the attendance list, including committee members Newton Coen, Jan Wood, Emma and Mike Tristram, Peter Hatley, John Heathcote, Vince Cooper, Christine Llewellyn, Geoff Alder, and John Bushrod.
- Apologies, membership and minutes.
An apology had been received from Joanna Williams, who was collecting an award for being made Person of the Year by the Sussex Heritage Trust. The certified list of members was approved. The Minutes of last year’s AGM were accepted as a correct record, except that ‘Alan’ Rollinson should have been ‘Angela’.
- Finance.
The death of Martin Bond, our former Treasurer, was recorded. John Bushrod was thanked for his work of taking over and interpreting Martin’s files, and his statement for the year ending 30/9/2007 was approved. The bank account stands at £937.55. ‘Cash in hand’ of £38.08 had been written off as it could not be found. ‘Stationery etc.’, at £198.50, included the printing of the two leaflets, ‘Six Walks around Walberton’ for Martin’s funeral, and the new ‘Binsted Wildflower Walks’ leaflet. The accounts will be audited by Alan Crook.
Subscriptions: forms for banker’s orders were available at the meeting. It was agreed that the subscription of £5 should stay the same but was optional.

Peter Brown paid tribute to Martin Bond, who had been a past Chairman as well as treasurer, and summarised some achievements of the year including improvements to WAG website by John Bushrod (www.walbertonag.org.uk), the Birds of Sussex meeting with David Hart, Parish News articles and a newsletter in August.
