About Us

. . . . The WSMBC was formed in 1990 by a group of local people who had a common interest in the game of bowls. To help provide the original finance of the club a number of founder members took out life membership of £100 each. A set of rules was drawn up for running the club.

. . . . The CLUB PURPOSE is to provide the amenities and equipment to enable local people to participate in the game of SHORT MAT BOWLS on a recreational and social basis. The club is a member of county and national associations.

. . . . MEMBERSHIP
. . . . We are an extremely friendly club and welcome new members who already play bowls or who would like to learn. At present the subscription is £15.00 per annum. A fee of £2.00 per person is charged for each playing session. Currently there are about 30 members.

. . . . CLUB ACTIVITIES . . . . The club meets in Walberton Village Hall and normally holds playing sessions (roll-ups) three times a week. The days and times of these sessions are:-

	Wednesday evening	6:45pm to 9:15pm
	Friday evening (September to April only)	6:45pm to 9:15pm
. . . . In addition to normal playing the club participates in matches against other local clubs and in various county organised competitions.

. . . .The League programme for 2010/11 will be shown shortly.

SOCIAL EVENTS

The Club has an Annual Dinner which is normally held in April/May after the AGM and a Party and games night at Christmas.
